PARTNERS FACILITATING AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT
Our planned programs include:
1) Improving health education in primary schools
2) Empowering adolescent girls through an education and mentorship program
3) Training Malawian Community Health Workers to provide preventive health education and basic curative care in villages
4) Providing microfinance and financial management training to households
In essence, we take a step further than many NGOs' general approach of providing financial and material development aid: We train community members to provide better education, healthcare, and other poverty-alleviating services so that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to continue the programs over the long-term, even when we move on to work in other villages. We understand that there are multiple causes of poverty, so we integrate programs to improve education, health, human rights, and economic well-being.
Partners Facilitating African Development is a nonprofit organization that operates under the umbrella of the West Des Moines Community Schools Foundation, a 501(c)(3) entity.
